Tiger Woods still needs one more good round to win for the first time in more than five years. His work through three days at the Tour Championship, though, was enough to earn a different type of title.

Masters favorite.

That’s right, Tiger Woods is now officially the favorite to win the 2019 Masters, according to Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. Following a Saturday 65 that saw Tiger take a three-shot lead through 54 holes at East Lake, the sports book moved Woods to the top of its board at 9-to-1 odds to claim next year’s first major.

Previously, Woods was listed at 12/1, along with Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas, while Jordan Spieth was a 10-to-1 favorite.

Woods is a four-time Masters champ, but his last green jacket came in 2005. Woods finished T-32 at Augusta National in April, his first time playing in the tournament since 2015.

Of course, these mid-tournament — and even mid-round — betting odds changes for Woods are nothing new. Earlier this year, Westgate’s golf oddsmaker, Jeff Sherman, told the Golf Digest Podcast about how Tiger keeps handicappers on their toes.

“He’s the only one that has that effect, really,” Sherman said. “When he’s playing, I expect to have that extra work to do.”

And if Woods wins on Sunday, Sherman may have more work to do.
